My mother always said, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” She brought us girls up to be independent free thinkers able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Sort of. Suffice it to say that when such a phrase is part of your life’s soundtrack, you do become a little bit of an over achiever. What does that mean for the partner that tries to come along?
Well I will tell you. It is not an easy task to handle a woman who has drive. Truth is it isn’t even an easy task to drive with a woman like that as a passenger if that woman happens to be me. In modern society many woman run their own lives, take care of businesses, own their own homes and don’t need a man to be a provider. In their mind and in their world, that part is covered. So why is it that there is still a little Cinderella syndrome hold over? I think women, just like men, need to feel desired. Who among us does not appreciate someone’s kind attention, a compliment, even once in a while? I believe that his can be a key to longevity in all relationships. If you really care and love those people close to you, take the time to do those little things that makes them feel they are important in your life.
Even if I don’t expect my man to carry me through life, I must admit, I do appreciate him making me feel desired and sweeping me off my feet. For the record, he does!
