Thank you. Thank you very much!

Sometimes the thing I like the most about doing manual tasks is that my mind is free to ponder.

Such was the case on Monday when I was cleaning up my kitchen from the remnants of our Sunday dinner. As I was washing up dishes and pots I was reflecting about how lucky we are. I had a kitchen to clean up because I had eaten a nice meal. I had dishes to wash because I have friends and family to share it with. I have a home to welcome them in that is safe and warm.

Giving thanks is something that is a daily ritual for me. So many things are part of our daily blessings that it seems to overlook them is to overlook the treasures that make life worthwhile. I can even be thankful for a disagreeable child as it means that child is in my life offering me an opportunity to learn. (Let the lessons be quick and painless is my only request!)

In this moment I am grateful for those blessings. In many parts of the world, of the country even, there are so many who suffer from hunger, cold and loneliness. I do not have the courage to complain about anything when I reflect upon that truth. There may be song in there somewhere... stay tuned.

Grazie & ciao and until next Wednesday!

Bianca
